Did You Know?

Did you know that at Glorious Scents, we donate 10p from every product we make that is sold to our chosen charity Dogs For Good? We have done this since the beginning of our business as we love animals, and particularly dogs. Every dog I have personally owned (I hate that word as they are free spirits but you get my meaning I hope), has been either a rescue, about to go into rescue, or a problem dog (I also hate that saying, as their are problem owners which create problem dogs, but that is another matter). As a person who cares about animals deeply, it is important to me that I give back and help as much as I can. As a small business, it can be a struggle just to get by day to day as I'm sure other small businesses will agree. We are reliant on people becoming customers and then returning which is why it is vital to give good service. 

When I was considering which charities Id like to support, I was in a bit of a quandary, as I wanted to support people with disabilities and also animals (my two now adult children are both Autistic, and also have ADHD and various problems stemming from their diagnosis, which I won't go into here). I also have an Autistic diagnosis which makes things difficult. I knew that at this point in my business I could not justify supporting more than one charity (I also support others on a more personal level), and was unsure what to do, until I discovered Dogs For Good. This amazing charity trains and provides Assistance Dogs for people who need them, not only for people with social and physical disabilities, but who are struggling with mental health problems where having an assistance dog would improve their quality of life so much and perhaps enable them to go outside and to be a companion for them which also helps their mental health. Another thing that I am passionate about is mental health and as a sufferer of SAD and depression myself, I saw that this was a fantastic opportunity for me to support all three of my passions in one fabulous charity! Having previously volunteered full time for a homeless charity, I missed helping people who were on the streets, and often found that one of the reasons they ended up there was due to lack of support with one thing or another, including mental health.

I may not be able to contribute on a huge scale, but every penny counts for charities like this, and so I knew that I had found the one I wanted to support. I hope that as my business grows, I am able to do more. Please check out Dogs For Good and you will see how many people they've helped and the amazing stories they share. All of my products are hand made by me, and great care is taken to ensure that the customer gets great value for money and a great product. All candles are made from premium plant waxes and fragrances, all are safety tested, unlike many out there, and my ranges are of my own creation. Glorious was born from a passion for quality products, and wanting to offer my customers value for money whilst offering them a luxury brand they could believe in. I hope that through my products, my customers can see my passion for both wanting to produce a fantastic product, with creativity, and doing what I can to help animals and people who are in need. Id like to think that they also get a glimpse of who I am as a person, rather than just another faceless brand. Thank you for your support, it means a lot to not only me, but also to Dogs For Good.
